Brian O'Sullivan

Managing Director

Brian O’Sullivan is the founder and Managing Director of OSD Pipelines. He has over 25 years experience in business management, project management and engineering. He is a specialist in the business of energy related developments with a strong emphasis on oil and gas pipeline and facilities projects. 

Brian has direct design and construction experience with major pipelines and petrochemical facilities in Australia, PNG and South East Asia.  

Brian’s key strengths include a strong technical knowledge and an in-depth understanding of commercial business activities. Brian has been a company director holding board positions for a range of entities.  He is also the former Chairman of the Australian Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, and maintains an active role within this organisation.

Brian held senior management positions with CMPS&F Oil and Gas, RJ Brown offshore pipeline engineers and has owned and operated a contracting business as well as owned a secondary processing business.

Linton Burns
Executive Director - Finance & Operations

Linton joined OSD in early 2009 as the Chief Financial Officer / Company Secretary. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of commercial and financial management experience including the last 9 as CFO and Company Secretary for two ASX and NASDAQ listed companies.

Linton has lead and managed capital raising's, undertaken IPO’s, and has experience in mergers and acquisitions.  He has a strong commercial focus and is responsible for OSD’s corporate services which cover finance, taxation, company secretarial, investment evaluation and IT.

Keith Horstmann

Executive Director - Major Projects

Keith has been in the resources development sector for nearly 30 years with extensive experience in mining, and oil and gas projects.  Since 1994 he has been predominantly involved in the pipeline industry in various roles from Project Management through to Business Management.

Keith joined OSD in 2005 to establish its Perth office and held the role of COO during 2007 / 2008. He is also an Executive Director on the OSD Board.

Keith has a degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma of Project Management, and is also a member of  AIM, MIEAust, APIA and AICD.

Greg Bartley
Executive Director - Technical

Greg became part of the OSD team after a merger with his own consultancy company GWB Engineering in February 2011. Greg first formed GWB Engineering in 1992, and since then has provided design and project engineering services in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industries.

Graduating from the University of Queensland in 1976 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree, Greg brings with him over 30 years experience in the engineering field, working for companies such as Amoco Oil Refinery (now BP Oil Refinery), Fluor Australia, MAMIC Engineering (now AECOM).

Greg has considerable experience in the design of Pressure Piping, Pressure Vessels and Tanks and is a member of Standards Australia Piping AS4041, Pressure Vessels AS1210 and In-service Inspection AS3788 committees. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland.

Martin Axelby
General Manager - Queensland
General Manager - Victoria

Martin has over 20 years experience in the design and operation of gathering systems, pipelines and pipeline facilities.

He managed OSD’s Canadian office for two and a half years, and in this time he developed and executed a number of pipeline projects in Canada and the United States. Martin has also provided pipeline services in Kurdistan, the former Soviet Union and the Middle East, and he has extensive experience with pipeline projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

As the General Manager Queensland for OSD, Martin is responsible for providing pipeline engineering and development solutions to our clients in Queensland and surrounding regions, as well as Canada.

Martin is highly qualified to lead the Brisbane team with a  Bachelors Degree of Mechanical Engineering and a Graduate Certificate of Management. He is also a member of IEAust, and he is a former committee member of AS2885.

Ian Christie
General Manager - Western Australia

Ian Christie has recently held the position of Managing Director of New Coal Energy, an Underground Coal Gasification company, having set up projects in Canada and Australia. He has held commercial, project management, marketing and business development roles with experience in commercialising a range of complex technologies for major corporations. He has worked in the oil & gas, aviation, defence and enterprise systems sectors.

 

He has held senior positions in a number of organisations including The Boeing Company, Brisbane Airport Corporation and major multi sector international Engineering companies. Ian holds a Bachelor of Commerce from James Cook University of North Queensland.

Rene D'Ath
General Manager - Asset Services

Rene D’Ath has over 20 years experience in the pipeline industry covering a wide range of disciplines and roles.  These have included pipeline integrity management, engineering, public liaison, and HR.

As General Manager of OSD Asset Services, Rene has the responsibility to provide our Clients with the full suite of OSD Asset services. 

Rene has qualifications in Telecommunications; a Diploma in Business Studies; various industry related qualifications including a HR Management Program at Columbia University in New York.

Craig Sheather
General Manager - OSD Plant & Facilities

Craig comes to OSD as part of the GWB merger, bringing with him 18 years experience as a Project/Design Engineer. After graduating from a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at QLD University of Technology, Craig has worked in an engineering capacity at Mackay Sugar Co-operative Association, Schultz, Tait, Greig & Associates, and Bradken prior to joining GWB Engineering in 2001.

As a Registered Professional Engineer, Craig has considerable experience as a Design and Project Manager in the Engineering field.

Alisdair Den-McKay
General Manager - New Zealand

Alisdair has 13 years intensive experience in design, development, testing and deployment of on and off-shore oil and gas related equipment.

He is a natural project leader with proven ability in identifying simple solutions to complex engineering problems. He thrives on building and motivating teams to successfully complete work within tight technical, time and resource constraints.

Alisdair has extensive experience with pipeline and systems integrity, intervention and decommissioning solutions, pipeline cleaning and inspection technology and API and ISO qualification testing.  

The New Zealand business started in February 2010 with pipeline operations services; in 2011 all OSD pipeline and facilities engineering services are being offered

Ian Gooding
General Manager - Commercial
General Manager - Slurry & Water Pipelines

Ian has over 25 years' experience in the contracts and procurement profession, many of which have been involved in major plant and multi-million dollar projects. He is fully conversant with the systems and documentation necessary to support and deliver those projects in the areas of equipment and material, domestic and international logistics, inspection regimes and multi-site contracting strategies,contract administration, and commercial closure.

Ian is General Manager - Commercial for OSD and a member of the corporate executive. He has a degree in Civil Engineering and worked extensively with tier 1 engineering and construction companies. Ian has EPC, EPCM, and BOO experience around the world with a strong focus on business process and systems.
